Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott survived a wild wreck on the last lap of the Geico 500 to clinch his first win at Talladega Superspeedway, crossing the finish line under caution.
The victory was his first of the 2019 season and locked Elliott into contention for this season’s NASCAR Playoffs. It was also the first win of 2019 for Chevrolet.
"This is unbelievable," said Elliott after the race. "This is close to home for me, so it feels a little bit like a home race."
