RCR to Celebrate 50th Anniversary With Gold Cars at Daytona

Dec. 19th 2018

Founded in 1969 by NASCAR Hall of Fame owner Richard Childress, Richard Childress Racing has accumulated a total of 17 championships and more than 200 victories across NASCAR’s top three series and was the first team in NASCAR history to win championships across all three national series.

In the 61st running of the DAYTONA 500® on February 17, 2019, reigning race winner Austin Dillon will take the track in a special gold paint scheme designed to commemorate Richard Childress Racing’s 50th anniversary. Dillon's new teammate, Daniel Hemric, will also be driving a gold No. 8 paint scheme in the 2019 season kick-off.

Lionel Racing is now making the official die-cast of these truly special cars available to order in both 1:24 and 1:64 scales. Each 1:24-scale is being offered in two different trim levels – an Action Racing Collectables (ARC) hood-open model and also a fully die-cast ELITE version that features an opening hood and trunk. A Gold Chrome finish special finish is also available.
