It was a battle to the checkered flag in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway, but Martin Truex Jr. held on to grab the first short track victory of his Monster Energy NASCAR® Cup Series™️ career.
It took him 81 tries, but Truex beat second-place finisher Joey Logano by .178 seconds to claim the long sought-after win.
“I’ve always really enjoyed this track. I’ve always loved coming here," Truex said after the race. "The short track win ... everybody kept asking me when it was going to happen."
The win was also Truex’s first of the 2019 season and his first as a driver for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). Truex joined JGR after Furniture Row Racing ceased operations at the end of 2018.
Now Truex's official Richmond Win die-cast is available to pre-order from Lionel Racing and authorized Lionel retailers.
