I’m Nick. I grew up in NJ going to Pocono and Dover for the races. I was at the 1995 All Star Race and have a die cast of Earnhardt’s silver car from that night. I started collecting Racing Champion 1:64s (some of which i am trying to restore) in the mid/late 90s. I started my 1:24 collection with Dale Sr’s 2001 Daytona 500 car and it’s eventual replacement, Kevin Harvick’s AOL 29 car with gold plating where the yellow would be. I later added a color chrome Terry Labonte Road Runner car and a 2003 Dale Jr car to my 1:24 collection. I met Tony Stewart at New Egypt Speedway and had him autograph his 3 Doors Down 1:64 car. On June 2, 2007 I went to the Busch race in Dover. With that ticket I also got cup practice. I got to see Martin Truex Jr on the track in the car he won his first race with two days later. I have both the 1:24 and 1:64 of that car. I took a break from collecting and found myself in Denver at the same time as Martin Truex Jr dominating with Furniture Row Racing. After he won the championship the actual car went in display at the Furniture Row Showroom. I got to stand next to the car and trophy. I bought the 1:24 of that car and was really excited to see some victory lane confetti, the same confetti I saw on the actual car, in the die cast box. My passion for racing was reignited and I have since been to ISM raceway and Kansas Speedway for Friday practice and the truck race respectively. I just went to my first cup race since 1995 and first playoff race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
